MAX MICELLI - ART AND MURALS

Max Miceli grew up in Redlands, California and received his BFA with Distinction in Illustration and Fine Art from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. A four-month internship with Klasky Csupo Studios quickly led to a full-time position in their visual development department.

8 years later, Miceli has Art Directed 6 pilots, overseen the design of and written for countless shows and feature films. Through sheer word of mouth, Miceli’s talents have been recognized by Disney, Fox, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Cartoon Network—where he most recently contributed as a character designer for the hit show “Squirrel Boy”.

In addition to entertainment, Miceli has worked as a freelance illustrator and designer with commissions from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Trilogy/MGM and Atlantic Records. His work has been featured in the pages of CMYK Graphic Arts Magazine, American Illustration and The Society of Illustrators Annual. In 2001, he received the Albert Dorne award from The Society of Illustrators in New York.

Other projects include a children’s book for Cemetery Dance Publications, costume design for the Aileen Wournos biopic “Monster”, concept design for Kid Koala’s music video “Basin Street Blues”, album cover design and Art Direction for Irving’s music video “Situation”—being played on MTV. Recently, he was a guest artist in the Nanospore Customs Exhibition in New York.

For the last 10 years, Miceli has participated in numerous group and solo fine art shows nation-wide. In 2003, Miceli was an official artist of the Coachella Arts and Music festival. The LA Weekly declared Miceli part of “an emerging stable of bright, young artists.”
